Let's face it, no blushes. We have all suffered at some point an experience close to collapse when we have opened the washing machine and we have found: a) shrunken clothes, b) garments of an uncertain tonality, c) an almost transparent fabric shirt, d) a sweater three larger sizes...
There is no need to overthink it, because this does not depend on age or short-term memory, nor on whether you are already living on your own... It does have a lot to do with rushing and stress, and with those superhero agendas that make it necessary to reconcile as much as possible and to carry out daily tasks on autopilot and without the attention they require. We asked the designer about his mishaps with the washing machine and... Surprise!
"Sometimes I have messed it up with the washing machine. Few, because you learn from your mistakes. I remember a sweater that I was very fond of, because it was from a brand with a lot of meaning for me, and when I went to put it on it gave me a certain smell to a closed cabinet. I was in a hurry to solve the problem and I put it in the washing machine with the rest of the things that I already had, I started it, without paying attention to anything else, and... What a disaster! That was no longer fixable .
How would you have acted today?
Today that sweater would not smell closed, because I always think about the ventilation of the cabinets, as well as including soaps with the aromas of my favorite fragrances, little bags of herbs that bring back olfactory memories, scented ceramics that emit a delightful smell... I put them in a place where I hardly notice them, but they leave their presence every time I open it. Now I also pay much more attention to the label of the clothes and the washing instructions. If it says don't wash, it doesn't even occur to me, or I try to wet somewhere inside that won't be seen later. If it bears the hand wash symbol, I only dare to put it in the washing machine if I have as an ally one of LG's innovative washing machines with Artificial Intelligence and a specific program for "delicate" fabrics.
I know it's obvious, but before doing laundry, my advice is to make an effort to catalog the clothes by textures and colors and then put them garment by garment and stretched, not all in a block. As for shoes, it is advisable to store them with the last (the correct size), so that they do not deform, always clean (with suitable products) and dry. If they've just been used, I recommend leaving them out for at least a couple of hours before putting them in a box."
