But if you don't want or can spend money on having specialists do the washing for you, we offer you different tricks to prevent the suit from losing its color, texture or wrinkling. Some damage that can be, in the worst case, irreversible.
- First of all, you should look at the label that contains the information about the washing and the type of fabric. Normally, cotton holds up well in the washing machine, although you must follow the instructions on the label.
- If you can't wash it, you can dry clean it. It is a bit more thorough, since it must be done manually. To do this, specific products are used for the fabrics to be cleaned and stain removers for those more difficult places.
- Normally a little spray is applied and the area to be cleaned is gently rubbed. Finally, it is usually rinsed with a little water.
- If you can put the suit in the washing machine, you must prevent it from being damaged. To do this, schedule a quick wash, half an hour or less.
- Whenever you clean delicate garments, you should put them individually and wash them with cold water.
- You must disable the spin, as it can cause major tears in the suit.
- Once the program is over, you must use a hanger to hang the jacket. It is likely to come out with a lot of water, so it is better to let it dry outside, protecting it from the sun to prevent the color from being damaged.
